Learn about our favorite floors!
R is for Raintree -- a unique waterproof hardwood floor that can handle traffic and the occasional pet accident or spill. It’s also scratch-resistant, so you’ll have fewer concerns about blemishes on your wood floors. Best of all, you can install this engineered hardwood anywhere in your house, even in a bathroom. In addition, you can select from white oak and hickory wood flooring.
Enjoy the beauty of hardwood floors in your home with Raintree waterproof hardwood flooring. It's dog approved!
S is for SmartStrand -- the carpet fiber with permanent, built-in stain resistance that is exceptionally durable and environmentally friendly (made in part from renewable plant based ingredients.) SmartStrand carpets come with the All Pet warranty that covers all pets, all accidents, all the time.
And if you love SOFT carpet, be sure to look and feel SmartStrand Silk. Many of our best selling carpets are SmartStrand and SmartStrand Silk.
T is for Tile -- Luxury Vinyl Tile that is. Most people think luxury vinyl only comes in wood looks. There are lots of great tile looks as well. Some of our favorites are COREtec Stone, TRUCOR Tile, and Pergo Tile Options. LVT is not as cold as real tile, is much more comfortable underfoot, waterproof, and there's no grout to keep clean. Come take a look today!
U is for Urban Terrace -- this real hardwood floor by Mohawk is one of our "go to" floors as there is a color that works for almost everyone. Available in maples, birch, oak, and natural walnut, all in the popular 5" width. Pictured is the natural walnut color, one of the few walnuts that is on the market today. Gorgeous!
V is for Villa Pointe -- possibly the most beautiful maple hardwood floor you will ever see! One of the thickest (9/16") engineered woods on the market and 7 1/2" wide. Superbly crafted by Karastan. Which color (see above) is your favorite?
How Much Does It Cost?
We install a lot of SmartStrand carpet. In fact, we chose it for the floors in the Design Center because we know how well it performs. We recently installed a patterned LCL carpet (loop-cut-loop) in two bedrooms and the staircase of a Marietta home. The price for 736 square feet was a little over $3500. This included moving furniture and the removal of the existing carpet and pad.
WWOWT Wonderful World of Window Treatments
You're probably well-versed on best practices for protecting your skin from UV rays, including applying sunscreen and donning long sleeves and a hat.
And while protecting your skin from UV rays is essential, it’s also important to protect your home's interiors. That’s because UV rays can cause furniture, flooring, photos and artwork to fade.
One solution? Window treatments. All window treatments, from blinds and shades to shutters and drapery, provide some form of protection from UV rays coming in from the window—protection that increases when they are fully closed.
Don’t want to sacrifice natural light by closing your window treatments? Consider window treatments that can block UV rays while still letting light into a space. That way, you can balance protection from harsh rays with the beauty and mood-boosting effects of natural light.
Sheer Shadings
Sheer window shadings are an innovative marriage of a blind and a shade. Pieces of fabric, called vanes, are encased on one or both sides by an elegant sheer. You can tilt the fabric vanes open and closed like blind slats.
Hunter Douglas offers two unique sheer shadings that multi-task: they block UV rays while letting natural light into a room and preserving your view.
S-shaped fabric vanes that elegantly float between two sheer panels are the hallmark of Silhouette® Window Shadings. This innovative design lets light filter into a space while providing daytime privacy even when the vanes are open. Depending on your fabric choices, Silhouette shadings can filter up to 88% of the sun’s harmful rays.
A modern spin on traditional shade fabrics, Pirouette® Window Shadings feature soft, contoured fabric vanes attached to a sheer backing. Simply adjust the vanes, which move gracefully, for a serene, comforting space.
