Floors Made In America

This month our featured sale items are all made in America.  Did you know that every $1 spent on American-made goods generates $1.81 in domestic economic activity? When you buy American, you’re not only getting a better made product that is held to a higher standard of manufacture, but you are helping strengthen our country.  Did you know: ~~Most carpet is not only made in the USA, but also in Georgia.  ~~A large percentage of the laminate floors we sell are made in North Carolina, for example, Mohawk, Pergo, and QuickStep.

One of our favorite brands of hardwood floors is Somerset. Somerset flooring is manufactured in Kentucky, and made from Appalachian hardwoods, that are (of course!) grown in the USA. When you buy American, you are not only supporting our country, but you are also supporting our state and region. However, most of the LVP on the market today is imported, primarily from China and Vietnam. The good news is that every year there are more and more Made In The USA vinyl options available, which we support as American companies and manufacturers are held to much stricter regulations in regard to labor and air, land, and water pollution. Importers are now having to comply with the Uyghur Forced Labor Protection Act (UFLPA), which was passed into law by the U.S. government in 2022. UFLPA prohibits the importation of all goods that are produced in or contain any content from the Uyghur region in China—an area believed to house forced labor operations. This region (also known as the Xinjiang region) produces large amounts of clothing, electronics, and automobile parts. This area is also a major supplier of PVC and raw materials to China and the greater Asian region that are used in the manufacturing of flooring, specifically LVP and LVT.
