It's fall, y'all!

It's fall, y'all!

It's fall, y'all!

Is your house ready

for the change of seasons?

If not, here are a few things to do

to welcome fall into your home:

Change your scents: Use rich, warm scents like pumpkin, clove, and cinnamon, or start with musky undertones. Candles, incense, potpourri, and essential oils can create a fall mood.

Adjust your textiles: Swap out summer linens for thicker blankets, comforters, rugs, and bath towels.

Switch out decorative pillows: Swap out pillows and other seasonal accessories to highlight the rich, moody tones of fall.

Clean and declutter: Decluttering before fall can help keep your home tidy and improve your home's ambience.

Play with lighting: Layering lighting can evoke emotion and transform a space. Candles are an excellent lighting option for fall.

If you have a fireplace, give it some attention. Clean the chimney to ensure it's safe to use, and consider updating the mantel with fall decorations. Even if you don't use the fireplace for heat, it can still serve as a focal point for seasonal decor.

Incorporate natural elements like pinecones, acorns, and autumn leaves into your decor. These can be arranged in bowls, vases, or as part of a centerpiece. Houseplants can also add a touch of greenery and help purify the air as you spend more time indoors.

Create a cozy reading nook where you can relax with a good book. Choose a comfortable chair, add a soft throw blanket, and place a small table nearby for your favorite warm beverage. This dedicated space can become a personal retreat during the cooler months.

Seasonal shifts are always a good time to check in with your framed photos and artwork. Updating your photos is a simple and cost effective way to keep the energy fresh and new in your home. Perhaps you have some photos from summer vacation that you’d like to frame! An option for summer to fall transition also includes swapping a few art pieces. Brightly colored art gets replaced for the season with deeper toned, moodier pieces that go well with the season.

Even if you normally decorate with neutrals or cooler colors or more “summer” colors, consider adding just a few warmer tones to make your home feel like fall is on its way! It can be as small as a stack of books with soft green or muted rust hues on the spine, a branch of fall foliage, a warmer tone of russet fabric on a pillow, or use your woven accessories to bring in even more natural tones.

Decorate with Nature: Include plants, flowers, or bowls of fruit. They all help set the mood, add scent, and bring the season to life throughout your home.

Shelving is more than just storage. It’s a way for your personality, and your family’s personality, to show. Rearranging your shelves is an instant refresh. Show off a few things that reflect the season: Fall décor, pictures of past pumpkin shopping trips, School pictures through the years, and Thanksgiving memories.  All of this can give the room a whole new look.

If you’ve been looking for the perfect moment to start a project, the end of summer is a great time to check it off the list. Before the schedule fills up with holiday engagements plan for home improvements. Replace old flooring with something durable, beautiful, and timeless like hardwood or laminate. With a little planning, prevention, and elbow grease you’ll be ready to win your autumn house goals, and then relax and enjoy the season.

I Was Floored By Enhance

From Deanna in Atlanta:

"I desperately needed new carpet in my two bedrooms. I contacted Enhance after reading reviews for several other companies and I remembered that I knew one of the owners through another connection. I also loved that it is a local company and not a chain.

I emailed the owner, Elisabeth, to ask about their procedure. I made an appointment and went in shortly thereafter to look at their carpet selections. It was a pretty easy process once I made my choice. Elisabeth was great at helping me select a pet friendly but still stylish option.

An appointment was made for measuring and to get a quote. I received my quote within 48 hours of measuring. I like that they offer financing options as well.

The two men that installed my carpet were very courteous and they did a great job. They also fixed all of the squeaks in my floors.

I love my new carpet! Enhance did a great job! I would definitely recommend."

Thank you so much for the kind words. We loved hearing about your dogs and your involvement in animal rescue. We are glad we could help you find a carpet that was stylish AND pet friendly.

How Much Does It Cost?

We installed a really nice DreamWeaver carpet for Deanna in her two bedrooms. This carpet is great for pets because the fiber is solution dyed, which means spots and stains clean up easily. For $3000 we installed 551 square feet of new carpet with an upgraded pad with a liner. This included removing the old carpet and pad and moving the furniture
