Is Interior Painting On Your “To Do” List? It’s the time of year that the paint manufacturers announce their 2022 Color of the Year. Usually they all disagree and there is never a consensus. However, this year, every COTY is a shade of green:
Benjamin Moore has chosen October Mist 1495 – an earth tone described as a gently shaded sage.
Behr has selected Breezeway (MQ3-21). This silvery green shade is inspired by the natural sea glass found on beaches, and is a cool, peaceful tone.
Pittsburg Paints is going with Olive Sprig (PPG1125-4), a crisp, earthy, grey-green color
Sherwin Williams has also chosen a subtle green: Evergreen Fog SW 9130.
So now you know. Go with a light shade of green and be ahead of the trends!
A Holiday Task You May Not Have Thought About
Before you start cooking and baking, if you have granite or marble countertops, seal the stone. First, clean your countertop thoroughly using a neutral cleaner. Never clean with any product containing acid, lemon, or bleach. Acids, even a light solution of vinegar and water, will eventually etch and damage the natural stone. Do not use scouring powders or creams; these products contain abrasives that may scratch the surface. Now apply the stone sealer. Stone sealers will need to be reapplied as soon as you notice water no longer stands (beads up) on the surface. TIP: While dish soap will not hurt your granite, repeated and excessive use of soap will cause build-up and dull the shine. Also, don't use bathroom, tub and tile, or window and mirror cleaners. The powders and even the "soft" creams contain abrasives that will scratch and dull the surfaces. Use only cleaners made specifically for granite and stone.

Look for organizations like Any Soldier, Support Our Troops, and Operation Gratitude. Be sure to include a card or letter and a family photo so they know who made the care package. Going Away for Thanksgiving? A Few Reminders: --Have someone pick up your mail and newspapers. --If your animals are home and you have someone coming in to feed and exercise them, ask your pet sitter to leave on different lamps and lights each time they visit. --If there’s a car in the driveway, ask someone to move it from time to time. --Be sure that your security system and/or motion activated lights outside are working properly. --And do NOT post pictures of your trip on social media until you have returned home. How Much Does It Cost?Pat had a gorgeous tile look LVT installed in her large eat-in kitchen. She selected a Trucor Tile that looks just like real ceramic tile, but without the coldness, hardness, and yucky grout. We installed 360 sq. ft. for $3800 all inclusive. This is a floor that will look “brand new” for years!
